General/Article Fields #
All general and article fields are required to publish an article.
- Login to the Catoctin Chronicle website at www.catoctinchronicle.org/login.
- Hover over “Stories” on the left sidebar, click “Add a Story.”
- Enter the article headline or title.
- Add writers (If a writer is not automatically populated, follow the guide on adding staff profiles).
- Copy and paste article into story body.
- On the right side, click the specified story category, this is essential to placing the article in the correct section.
Images #
All images being used as a thumbnail should be in a 2:3 or 3:2 aspect ratio, this is essential for high-quality thumbnails.
To download images from Google Docs, right click on the image, hover over “Show more options” and select “Save to Keep”, open your Google Keep, right click the saved image as selected “Save Image as…”
- On the right side, select “Add a Featured Image”. Upload the specified image, this takes the place of the thumbnail across the entire website.
- For inline images, click “Add inline image” above the story body. Upload and place specified inline images, wrap text and scale image as required.

Publishing #
Once all of the fields and images are populated, click “Publish.” This will immediately publish the article, and will be visible to the public. Publishing can addition be scheduled at a later date under “Publish Time.”
