The author of the iconic Gothic story, Frankenstein, was a woman named Mary Shelley. Shelley created the story when she was only 19 years old.
The story of Frankenstein was first published in 1818, January 1st. The novel is renowned as a thrilling and groundbreaking book in the works of Gothic and science fiction genres. The novel is about a curious and determined scientist, named Victor Frankenstein, driven by his desire to tame death and unlock the secrets of life. He creates a human like creature from the remains of other humans, named Frankenstein. The story unfolds the consequences of creating the monstrosity. But the monster is not born evil, nor did it come alive with a purpose of wickedness. Frankenstein has knowledge on how to speak, read, and understand society by watching humans.
But, the problem was, he was socially rejected, and feared by other humans. Anyone he approached was immediately afraid of him. Even the scientist who made him, Victor, was so afraid of the monster that he abandoned him completely. This is what caused Frankenstein to become violent, bitter, lonely, and isolated by society. Frankenstein had the desire to get revenge on Victor. This is what led to the consequences of Victor’s creation of Frankenstein. The creature’s acts of revenge led to the death of Victor’s loved ones, including his brother, William, and his fiancee, Elizabeth.
